My name is Gordon Hack. I treat Image-making as an unstable, dynamic phenomenon.
I was born in Glasgow in 1991 and currently live and work in London. As an artist and former scientist, I exist to uncover the forces underlying the generation of images in the twenty-first century, and to stretch those forces to breaking point.
Informed by my background as a PhD biochemist, my work is an evolving research programme that reaches across digital and physical domains. I use 2D and 3D software to forge new worlds of meaning from components of the existing one. These worlds are portrayed with acrylic and oil using airbrush and paintbrush, in addition to other media and printing techniques.
